WHy did I create the raeside?

I wanted to bring something different to the fandom something joyful, playful, and authentic.

I used to be shy about my passion and my voice until I attended Star Wars Celebration 2022 in Anaheim. That event flipped a switch. I realized there was space for me to creatively express myself and build something deeply meaningful. I never expected it to resonate with so many people the way it already has.

In July 2022, I officially created The RaeSide. The name came from the thoughtful advice of Logan and Tyler from Chatter Squadron. Like a nervous Jedi Padawan seeking wisdom from her Masters, I asked them: “Should I do this? Should I start this channel?” My biggest hesitation? What to name it. Logan just said, “You are The RaeSide. There’s only one Hannah RaeSide. Why not just name it that?” That simple sentiment gave me the push I needed to just start.

Armed with an outdated MacBook and a phone three generations old, I launched The RaeSide with my very first livestream. I wanted to bring something different to the fandom something joyful, playful, and authentic. My early videos included making Star Wars–inspired blue milk, face-painting as alien characters, and DIY lightsabers from cardboard tubes.

When Andor Season 1 approached, I hosted a four-hour livestream countdown show, complete with themed snacks, trivia, guests, and audience interaction. The goal was to hype the midnight premiere and create a shared experience even for viewers around the world.

Since then, I’ve hosted livestream countdowns and premiere parties for five different live-action Star Wars series and two seasons of The Bad Batch. These events have become traditions that fans look forward to each drop.

As of June 2025 I have complete 474 live shows on Youtube and counting. I am not slowing down with my motivation and passion with creating and curating Star Wars focussed content for fans.

I have the best time doing it and I hope people can always come to my content and community for that much needed spread of kindness and connection.
